a). Discuss The Role Of Maharaja Ranbir Singh In The Field Of Education?

Answer. The role of Maharaja Ranbir Singh in the field of education, are as under:

i) He attempted to promote Hindu-Muslim Scholarship and Established Translation Bureau Called Dar-ul-Terjumah where the Arabic and Persian works on philosophy and history were translated into Sanskrit, Hindi, and Dogri.

ii). Institutions such as the Raghunath temple Pathshala, a library and a Mahavidhyalya were established. He believed in providing education for all classes of its subjects and founded a few state-sponsored institutions.

iii) The Dogra court patronized all the languages and scripts.

 

b). Briefly described the steps taken by Maharaja Hari Singh to ameliorate the position of women in the state?

Answer. The steps, taken by the Maharaja Hari Singh to ameliorate the position of women in the state were:

i) A spiritual trust called Dhanvantri Memorial Trust was created. This trust extended financial help to the girls at the time of their marriage.

ii) To  prevent child marriage, he passed the infant marriage prevention regulation act in 1928 AD

iii) Widow Remarriage act and property regulation of 1931 AD gave liberty to the widows to marry and live their lives according to their own will.

 

c). Write a short note on cultural development in the Jammu region during the Dogra period with special reference to theatre and drama?

Answer. The cultural development in the Jammu region during the Dogra period with special reference to theatre and drama are:

i) The first native performing group was Raghunath Theatrical company which was set up inside the premises of Raghunath temple.

ii) The Dogri Sanstha established in 1943 (AD) promoted Dogra culture and initiated the process of performing original Dogri plays like Baba Jitto, sarpanch, Nama gran, etc.

iii) During the 19th and the 20th century, the Jammu region had active regional folk theatres like Tamachra, Bhagtain and Haran.

 

d). Highlight the major public welfare works undertaken during the Dogra period in J&K?

Answer. The major public welfare works undertaken during the Dogra period in J&K were as follows:

i) Establishment of local self-government: With the establishment of regency in the state in 1885, a shift in the pattern of governance was witnessed and the princely rulers were required to offer more representation to people in the wake of rising nation consciousness.

ii) Roads and railways: The construction of the roads and railways network was also taken up which connect the state to the outer world and led to the flourishing of trade and commerce in the state.

iii) Irrigation: In order to save the state from frequent famines, several irrigation projects were taken up during the Dogra rule.

iv) Public health care: The modern medical facilities came into existence during the later period of Dogra rule.

    1. Indian penal code was introduced by Thomas babington macaulay in india during British Rule.Maharaja Ranbir Singh made Ranbir penal code on the pattern of macaulay's code,for deliverance of prompt and cheaper justice. Hope ut will help you

    1,In the b part you have written Dhanvantri Memorial trust but it is Dhandevi Memorial Trust
    2,You have written the Dogri Sanstha was established in 1943 A.D but it was established in 1944 A.D
    And
    I am facing problem in downloading the app.The app is not working.
    And you have not added the the question yet write a short note on Thanka art and Cham dance of ladakh
